What are you facing today? FEAR, GRIEF, INSECURITY, HOPELESSNESS? We all go through seasons of joy and pain. Whether you just came through a dark valley, are climbing up a mountain, or walking into the unknown—God is with YOU!
“…With His love, He will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.” - Zephaniah 3:17b (NLT)
We can find great comfort in knowing that there is nothing we experience in this life that God doesn’t address in His Word. He intimately knows every detail of our lives. He sees every tear. He weeps with us in our grief (John 11:35) and rejoices with us in our victories (Zephaniah 3:17). When trials come and pain feels overwhelming, we can look to our Savior! He is our strength and HOPE. When we don’t know how to pray, the Psalms give words to our emotions and are a guide for how to pour out our hearts to God.
Here are promises you can stand upon and declare over your situation:
PROMISES OF PROTECTION
Behold, He who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is your keeper; the Lord is your shade on your right hand. – Psalm 121:4-5 (ESV)
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. – Psalm 46:1 (ESV)
Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; He is my God, and I trust Him. – Psalm 91:1-2 (NLT)
I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With Him at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure – Psalm 16:8-9 (NIV)
PEACE OVERCOMES FEAR
Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. – Psalm 23:4 (NIV)
The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid? – Psalm 27:1 (NIV)
But when I am afraid, I will put my trust in You. I praise God for what He has promised. I trust in God, so why should I be afraid? What can mere mortals do to me? – Psalm 56:3-4 (NLT)
In peace I will lie down and sleep, for You alone, O Lord, will keep me safe. – Psalm 4:8 (NLT)
COMFORT IN YOUR GRIEF
Cast your burden on the Lord [release it] and He will sustain and uphold you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken (slip, fall, fail). – Psalm 55:22 (AMP)
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. – Psalm 34:18 (NIV)
Hear me, Lord, and have mercy on me. Help me, O Lord. You have turned my mourning into joyful dancing. You have taken away my clothes of mourning and clothed me with joy, that I might sing praises to You and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give You thanks forever! – Psalm 30:10-12 (NLT)
GOD'S UNFAILING LOVE
For the Lord is good; His steadfast love endures forever, and His faithfulness to all generations. – Psalm 100:5 (ESV)
But You, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness. – Psalm 86:15 (NIV)
Our gracious God is ALWAYS present. Nothing is wasted in His Kingdom. Our God is more than able to redeem and restore every broken heart and weary soul. When you experience His faithfulness, you want to tell anyone who will listen—"if He did it for me, He will do it for YOU!"
PRAISE GOD
Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised, and His greatness is unsearchable. One generation shall commend Your works to another, and shall declare Your mighty acts. On the glorious splendor of Your majesty, and on Your wondrous works, I will meditate. They shall speak of the might of Your awesome deeds, and I will declare Your greatness. They shall pour forth the fame of Your abundant goodness and shall sing aloud of Your righteousness. – Psalm 145:3-7 (ESV)
I will sing of the steadfast love of the Lord, forever; with my mouth I will make known Your faithfulness to all generations. – Psalm 89:1-4 (ESV)
