Have you ever wondered what the Bible really says about women? In Judges 4-5, we learn about Deborah, who led an entire nation to victory and peace. In the Gospels, we find Jesus interacting with women in revolutionary ways. Then we come to Paul’s letters to the Early Church that seem to forbid women to speak (1 Timothy 2:12). How can all of these stories be true? Can we trust the Bible we hold in our hands today?
If we believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God and is without error (and we do), then we must dig deeper into the pages to fully understand our Father’s heart toward His daughters. Would Paul be surprised at how the words of 1 Timothy and other passages are being twisted and used against women today?
